FasTrak transponders come in different shapes and sizes, but they all work to pay your toll anywhere the FasTrak logo is displayed in the state of California.
What’s the difference between toll roads and FasTrak?
FasTrak is the preferred method of payment on The Toll Roads. FasTrak drivers affix a transponder to their vehicle’s windshield and when they pass through a tolling point the toll is automatically deducted from their account via their preferred payment method: charge, invoice or prepaid.
What’s the difference between FasTrak and FasTrak Flex?
FasTrak Flex toll tags work just like FasTrak Standard toll tags but have a three-position switch that can be adjusted to signal whether you are traveling as a carpool or alone. It is required for most Bay Area express lanes.
Is there a monthly fee for FasTrak?
As of July 1, 2019, transponders are no longer charged an account maintenance fee. Switchable and external transponders are available for purchase.
Is there an annual fee for FasTrak?

What if I go through a SunPass lane by mistake?
Electronic Enforcement: SunPass takes a picture of your license tag as you go through the lane. If we do not receive a signal from a transponder, and cannot match your license plate to an active account, an unpaid toll violation will be mailed to you.
Are there discounts for using Fastrak on toll roads?
The Toll Roads introduced a new discount program for prepaid FasTrak accounts. Starting July 1, 2019, drivers with prepaid FasTrak accounts with The Toll Roads who spend $40 in tolls on The Toll Roads (State Routes 73, 133, 241 and 261) during a statement period receive $1 off every toll accumulated on The Toll Roads the following statement period.
