How much should I pay for an EP?
Pay the $105 fee for each application by GIRO , VISA or MasterCard. Check your application status after 3 weeks. It may take longer if additional information is required.
Can EP holder do part time job?
No, an Employment Pass holder (EP) can only work for one employer at a time. All work pass holders must only work for their designated employer. They must not take on additional jobs or engage in activities to earn additional income in Singapore.
Does EP holder need to pay levy?
No foreign worker levy or quota required. Employers can choose whether to provide medical insurance for EP holders.
Can an EP holder work for another company?
Yes, but only if the EP holder has obtained a Letter of Consent ( LOC ) from MOM . We recognise that secondary directorship positions in related companies, e.g. subsidiary, may be critical to the EP holder’s job role.
What is the minimum salary for S Pass?
Only eligible candidates will be considered for an S Pass. Criteria include a minimum salary of $2,500 and acceptable qualifications. Use the Self-Assessment Tool to check a candidate’s eligibility before you apply.
How long can EP holder stay outside Singapore?
Yes, you can work overseas as long as necessary, if it’s for your Singapore-based employer. The same requirements will still apply. If you want to leave Singapore for more than 6 months to work for an overseas employer, you should cancel your Personalised Employment pass ( PEP ).
Do EP holders pay CPF?
No. Neither employment pass holders nor their employers (on behalf of EP holders) are required to make CPF or any other statutory fund contributions. CPF contributions are required only for Singapore citizens and permanent residents.
Can EP holder do freelancing?
The only way you can legally make this work is to form your own company and apply for your own EP. Then, the company that you are currently working for would hire you as a contractor and you would be able to take on other freelance jobs as well.
Can EP become director?
The EP holder can also be appointed to the Board of Directors of the same company, without having to notify MOM. However, companies appointing EP holders from other companies to the Board of Directors must first seek approval from MOM.
What is the difference between S Pass and EP?
Employment Pass in Singapore applies to highly skilled professionals with high qualifications and job offers in Singapore. S Pass is applicable for Mid-level skilled staff or technicians.
Can S Pass holder apply for PR?
Yes. If you hold an S Pass and wish to become a Singapore permanent resident, you can apply through the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority ( ICA ). The application will be assessed based on ICA’s PR criteria.
