Do you still have to book to go to Swindon tip?
The HWRC is open for pre-booked visits. This is to ensure we maintain the safety of residents, staff and other site users. This approach limits the number of vehicles queuing on surrounding roads and minimises disruption to local businesses.
Do you need to book for the tip?
Please ensure you plan your journey and follow the site rules to keep you and our staff safe. All site users need to book before coming to the tip. Only cars, small vans, 4x4s or cars with trailers are permitted. Proof of residence is required.
What can’t you take to the tip?
Unfortunately, any items that you would usually pay to have disposed of will not be accepted – including tyres, gas bottles, soil & hardcore, vehicle parts, commercial waste, plasterboard and Asbestos.

How many times can I go to the tip Swindon?
Timed slots are available between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday. People will be restricted to two visits per household, per month. Only Swindon Borough Council residents can use the Cheney Manor tip.
